WILD HOG HUNTING SEMINAR

WILD HOG HUNTING SEMINAR: Durwood Hollis, who has probably killed more wild hogs on public land in California than anyone alive, and Ron Gayer, a long-time hog hunting guide in the Golden State, will be giving a comprehensive five-hour seminar on hunting wild hogs beginning 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 26) at Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga.

Hollis has hunted hogs in California over 50 years and has written about the sport extensively in outdoor magazines and a number of books during that time. Gayer, a former guide on the vast Tejon Ranch, as well as guide who has worked throughout the West and Alaska, has been responsible for putting countless hunters on their very first wild pig. The pair will cover wild hog history in California, how to read sign, hunting strategy, guns and gear, where to go on both public and private land, field care, home meat cutting and more. Everyone who attends will receive a packet of public land hunting maps, including info on new hunting areas in San Diego County.

Cost for the seminar is $40 per person and seating is limited so spots may not be available at the door. To pre-register, call Hollis at
